The Larimer County Board of Commissioners will hear a proposed rate increase for "rubble" type material at the Larimer County Landfill just prior to their public Budget hearing at 6:30p.m. on November 18th in Fort Collins.

“Rubble” type materials are usually materials that are non-compactable and take up more air space than other types of materials going into the landfill.  Materials that are considered rubble include: asphalt, asphalt shingles, tree trunks, concrete, dirt, sludge, construction, and demolition debris.  The proposed rate increase is for $1.00 a cubic yard. “This rate will move our landfill closer to the fees charged by other landfills.  In the past three years, we have seen a large increase in this type of debris due to our fee being less expensive than surrounding landfills,” says Solid Waste Director Stephen Gillette who will give Monday’s presentation.
  • Fort Collins Rate Hearing – Monday, November 18, 2013 – 6:30p.m. on cable TV channels 14 in Fort Collins and 16 in Loveland and Berthoud. The hearing takes place in Fort Collins at 200 West Oak St., 1st floor Hearing Room.
