Mission Statement - Administer adopted building codes to assure that both new and existing building construction is safe.

The Building Department is responsible for professional building services including permits, plan review, inspections, and code enforcement for all the unincorporated areas of Larimer County. We are committed to ensuring compliance with the adopted codes and to protect the health and safety of Larimer County residents.

Larimer County Proclaims May 2013 as Building Safety Month
Joining communities across the state of Colorado and the US, the Board of County Commissioners proclaimed May 2013 as Building Safety Month in Larimer County.

Project Notice: Be aware of the regulations below on your project to avoid costly problems or delays:

Search on-line to see if a contractor is licensed to do work in the unincorporated area of Larimer County. Go to: Larimer County Contractor License Search.

Effective March 1, 2013, permits for roof coverings applied for on or after this date will require a roofing certification form at the time of inspection for all areas of unincorporated Larimer County. This certification must be filled out by the owner or contractor doing the work. Previously, certifications were only required for high wind areas. Go to: Roofing Handout and Certification Form
