Boy Scout Troop 6 of Berthoud is partnering with the Carter Lake Sail Club to perform forest fire mitigation and overall forest clean up in the forest surrounding the Carter Lake Sail Club. It has been noticed that much of the forest in area has already had the fire mitigation work completed. Our plan is to match the work that has already been completed. This work will include trimming the dead branches on the pine trees up from the ground 5 feet. Picking up all the deadfall branches and placing them in piles. Cleaning up any trash that has accumulated in the forest and placing it in the trash bin provided by the Sail Club.
