Event Information

Permit Type(s): County Road
Website: http://www.sleighriderstoyrun.org
Location:
Police escorted parade ride from Thunder Mountain Harley Davidson to the Windjammer at Carter Lake.

Description:
We exist soley to help Santa Cops of both Larimer and Weld counties. Our 'Summer Series' event is part toy run and part poker run. (The permit is for the start only) This year we want to make our Summer Series event more like our Christmas event and that means starting with a parade ride. We will leave from Thunder Mountain Harley Davidson for a non-stop ride to the Windjammer at Carter Lake. All intersections will be controlled by City of Loveland PD, Larimer County S.O. and also our own certified Sleigh Riders road guards who can and will be controlling the minor intersections while squad cars can block the bigger ones. (Map attached and intersection assignments) Those law enforcement agencies have agreed with the approval of a permit. City permit has also been filed. This will be exactly as we do our Christmas run in Greeley and have since 2006. We will only be holding up the intersections for 10 minutes at the most. 300+ bikes, many from out of state, all with toys strapped to them is a sight to see and we get nothing but support from those who see it go by. Our reputation is well known and the City of Greeley PD (GPOA) have been a part of this from day one and always led by friend Doug Medhurst. Now we really want to include Larimer county as equals and hope you will support us as well by helping us put together this simple 17 mile parade ride. Our 'Summer Series' event benefits Santa Cops of Larimer county only and our Christmas event in Weld county benefits Santa Cops of Weld county.
