Electronic Recycling Landfill Disposal Ban

Effective Monday, July 1, 2013, a statewide electronics landfill disposal ban went into effect in Colorado. The Electronic Recycling Jobs Act prohibits disposal of a number of electronic items in landfills and at transfer stations.

Refer to the State of Colorado electronics and computer waste website for regulations.

Electronics can be taken to the electronics recycling station located inside the Larimer County Landfill. There is a fee for electronics recycling (cash only), and customers are responsible for unloading their electronics onto the scale.

Waste Management accepts electronics at $.40 per lb., cash only. GoldStar, Zenith, LG, and Bose televisions are currently free.

Electronic recycling does not include dismantled computers or televisions, small appliances, or other electrical equipment such as electric weed eaters or electric mowers. These are considered waste and charged as such.

See Electronics recycling for rates and more information, or call 970-372-3362.

  • Fax machines
  • Photocopiers
