SCOPE OF WORK
The County Road 44H (Buckhorn Road) road constructed as an emergency access after the September 2013 flood is to be rebuilt to provide a more flood resilient and safer roadway. The reconstruction will extend approximately 10.2 miles from CR 27 to just west of Forest Road 129 (Ballard Road). A 24 foot wide gravel surfaced road closely following the emergency road alignment is proposed. Larger culverts will be placed at all stream crossings and extensive riprap placed along the streamside road embankment.
FEMA will provide 75% of the funding for the project while the state Office of Emergency Management and a HUD Community Developemnt Block Grant will each provide 12.5%.
Project Budget: $6,000,000
Design by AVI has begun. A project Open House will be held early this summer. Construction is anticipated to start in late 2015.
