Park Situation

2012 Annual Permits are available.  Annual Permits may be purchased from the Bison Visitor Center and from Rangers in the field.

Drinking water at Pinewood Reservoir has been shut OFF for the season. Potable water may be accessed at Flatiron Campground, Upper Eagle campground and Big Thompson Campground. 

 SELF-SERVE PERMIT STATIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS RESERVOIR. PERMITS MUST BE PURCHASED AT THE NORTH ENTRANCE OF CARTER LAKE.

Fishing Conditions

Fishing has been slow. Ice fishing is NOT ALLOWED.  Please stay off the ice.

Water Level

Water level is back to normal, but the reservoir is nearly completely frozen over.


Camping

Camping reservations may now be made 180 days in advance.

Reservations may be made at www.larimercamping.com or by calling 1 (800) 397-7795.

Camping for the winter season is on a first-come, first-served basis.


Wildlife

Mule Deer and Elk are plentiful this time of year. Please drive carefully as wildlife often gathers near the roads.
