This property has a combination of riparian corridor, wetlands, agricultural fields, and bluffs, which create a diverse plant and animal habitat. It is also the site of an old oxbow formed by the nearby Cache La Poudre River. This oxbow was abandoned in the late 60s or early 70 when the river was channeled to build a bridge across it. River Bluffs Open Space is currently recognized by the Colorado Division of Wildlife as a significant duck winter range.

Management Plan

This property extends the Poudre River Regional Trail and is currently undergoing weed mitigation and habitat restoration. The management plan will be available soon.
