James Disney began his career as an artist in 1963. He is primarily known for his mountain landscapes, although he has explored many schools of artistic expression in his forty years of painting. He has shown in several galleries and numerous exhibitions throughout the Western United States. His paintings are in private and public collections in the U.S. and several foreign countries. He has, twice, been the Artist in Residence in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Jim is an avid outdoor person. He has climbed over 350 different mountains in the Western U.S. and Mexico, including 20,320 foot Mount McKinley in Alaska. He has climbed all 54 of Colorado's fourteen thousand foot peaks and all 126 named summits in Rocky Mountain National Park.
