Fort Collins, CO - The Larimer County Building Department is resuming pre-flood hours of operation in the Estes Valley and surrounding areas, effective Tuesday, November 12, 2013.

  • The county building office at 1601 Brodie Ave., Estes Park, will be open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 to 9:30 am. The office is closed Tuesdays so staff can attend weekly meetings at county offices in Fort Collins.

  •  Inspections will be performed Monday through Friday, after office hours.  (All county offices will be closed for Veterans’ Day, Monday, November 11.)

“Now that Highway 36 has reopened to all traffic between Estes Park and points east, our staff can drive up daily and we no longer need to have them stay overnight in a motel,” said Chief County Building Official Eric Fried. “The highway re-opening and our resumption of normal operating hours are two more milestones along the road to recovering from the 2013 Flood.”

Building Official Fried also advised that the Green “Inspected” placards, which indicated that structures were assessed as safe to occupy, can now be removed. For information on steps needed to correct conditions allowing the removal of Red “Unsafe” and Yellow “Restricted” placards, please call the County Building Department’s Flood Line at (970) 498-7699, or emaillcplngbldg@co.larimer.co.us.
