The Arsenal Colorado girls’ soccer program participated in a trail service project as part of the 15th annual Colorado Cares Day, celebrating Colorado’s Statehood. Over thirty eight players and parents worked along with the Larimer County Natural Resources’ Trail Crew to complete renovation and maintenance on the Horsetooth Mountain Open Space trails. The service project on July 26 included repairing extensive erosion damage on trails, sweeping back brush, and clearing debris drainage areas from current water run off.

Service days, such as Colorado Cares Day, Make a Difference Day, Honor the Lands Day, and many others, offer an opportunity to help strengthen local communities through volunteer service projects.  For more information on how you can get involved in outdoor projects contact Pam Mayhew, Larimer County Natural Resources Volunteer Coordinator at pmayhew@larimer .org or 970.679.4552.
