The Board of Larimer County Commissioners (BCC) today adopted their updated 5-year Vision & Goals for Larimer County. They gathered input on the proposed Vision & Goals from elected officials at Larimer County, Community Leaders, citizens, and employees over a multi-month period. The refreshed Vision & Goals were created with a larger, more external ‘Community’ focus. The Objectives to come will define what role Larimer County government has in the Vision & Goals.
The process called Planning for our Future began in late 2012 and is part of an ongoing 3-Phase strategic planning process that refreshes the County’s 2004 & 2009 Strategic Planning processes.
The Vision & Goals represent Phase I of the County’s process. Phase II will craft a 5-year Strategic Plan and will be spearheaded by County Manager Linda Hoffmann and the Planning for our Future team. The Strategic Plan involves developing the ‘how’ for each Goal, called ‘Objectives’, which are measurable and will be developed by five County Services & Strategic Planning Groups. County Manager Linda Hoffmann is looking forward to the next Phase, “The Visioning work completed by the Community and adopted by the Commissioners sets exciting direction for Larimer County. I’m looking forward to working with County leaders to map out specific strategies to realize these goals.”
Phase III will see ‘Work Plans’ developed by Elected Offices and Divisions. These plans drive the actual work that Larimer County will do to accomplish the Objectives. To see the new Vision & Goals as well as an in-depth explanation of the Goals and a reiteration of the process, please visit the Planning our Future web site on the County’s Virtual Courthouse: http://larimer.org/news/projects.htm
