The parking lot at Lions Open Space will be closed starting Oct. 19 for construction. It is expected to reopen Nov. 25. The Pleasant Valley Trail remains open during construction. Fishing access also remains open as long as no equipment is in the river. Learn more.
Located on the banks of the Cache La Poudre River, Lions Open Space offers day-use area picnicking, fishing, hiking, and biking. It's also home to the westernmost portion of the Poudre River Trail, which continues west as the Pleasant Valley Trail. This paved trail winds along the Poudre River through stunning riparian habitat, along a Frisbee golf course, and next to county roads to its end at Watson Lake in Bellvue, Colorado.
Three-acre Bingham Hill Park, with shelters and picnic tables, sits at the top of Bingham Hill and provides a breathtaking view of Pleasant Valley and the town of Bellvue. It's a great place to rest after climbing the hill on your bike!
These three areas have no entrance fees and are open year-round from dawn to dusk. Lions Open Space and the Pleasant Valley Trail are located just south of Laporte, Colorado. Bingham Hill Park is located west of Overland Trail on County Road 50E (Bingham Hill Road).
