Power Line Trail/Bobcat Ridge to Storm Mountain reopens to Residents w/ credentials

Department: Sheriff
Release Date: Oct 23, 2013

Jennifer Hillmann
Public Information Officer
Larimer County Sheriff's Office

The trail between Bobcat Ridge and Storm Mountain has again re-opened today after a brief closure due to last weeks rain and snow on October 18th-20th. This access remains only for local residents with credentials and gate code information. The trail will remain open during daylight hours and is dependent on weather and trail conditions.

We remind residents that the trail will close temporarily when conditions warrant and another possibility for rain/snow is predicted for early next week.

When using the trail, residents are asked to limit vehicular traffic to off-road vehicles only, to stay on the trail to respect the adjoining private property, and to leave gates in their found condition.

A reminder that resident credentials are required for anyone going behind all checkpoints and roadblocks into flood affected areas. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to remain at the gate at Bobcat Ridge to credential those needing access to their properties via this route.

Individuals found behind the checkpoints and roadblocks without credentials will be cited. Patrols will be active in all areas. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office Posse is now patrolling the remote areas on horseback.
