Tips for spectators at the Pro Cycling events

The USA Pro Challenge Professional Cycling Race will be taking place in Larimer County this Saturday, August 24th. The route passes through several areas including Fort Collins, Loveland, and Estes Park. This event is an exciting opportunity for spectators to enjoy a professional cycling race. Many of the spectators may be watching from the foothills under full sun, perhaps for several hours.

 

The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment offers tips for spectators to keep healthy and safe while they are watching the race.

 

If  heading out to watch the event, spectators should be prepared for high temperatures and sun exposure.  Remember, the race is at high altitude where the effects of sun exposure are stronger than at low altitude.  Effects of high heat and sun exposure are also more probable on children.
