Recycle, compost, garbage and refuse areas clean, maintained and properly constructed. (1 pt.)
PUBLIC HEALTH REASON
The proper storage of recyclable and compostable materials, garbage and refuse is necessary to minimize insect, rodent, other pest and odor problems. Compactors and containers used for recycling and waste must be located on concrete, rolled asphalt pads or other surfaces that allow for easy cleaning to inhibit breeding of flies and rodents. Floors, walls and ceilings of indoor recycling or refuse storage rooms must be constructed of smooth, durable, non-absorbent materials to facilitate easy cleaning.
