The project includes the repair of two bridges, Seneca Rd. and Cree Ct. and the replacement of the Kiowa Bridge over the Little Thompson River in the Pinewood Springs subdivision off of US 36 southeast of Estes Park.

  • The Seneca Road bridge work includes replacement of the bent column on the upstream end of the pier as well as scour protection around the pier footing.
  • The Iroquois Road work includes reconstruction and erosion protection of the damaged section upstream of Cree Court.
  • The Cree Court bridge work includes wing wall replacement, abutment scour repair and approach road/guardrail reconstruction.
  • The Kiowa Road bridge work includes design and construction of a completely new bridge.

These projects are funded with FEMA flood recovery funds.

Project Budget: $2,600,000


Construction is scheduled from February through June of 2015. An open house meeting to discuss the projects with residents was held January 7, 2015 at the Pinewood Springs Firehouse. The construction contract was awarded to Walsh Construction for $1,954,506.00. Construction began on February 16. The Kiowa Road bridge abutments are complete. Girders should be erected soon. The Cree Court bridge repair work, as well as the Iroquois Road riprap work, are nearing completion. The Seneca Road bridge footing toe wall and riprap are complete with the column replacement to begin soon.
