SCOPE OF WORK

The objective of this Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) project is to reduce threats to life or property to pre-September 2013 flood levels by mitigating future flooding or erosion concerns caused by the disaster.

NRCS (Natural Resource Conservation Service - Department of Agriculture) will fund 75% of the project. The State Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and Larimer County (Project Sponsor) will each fund 12.5%.

Project Budget: $4,000,000

PROJECT STATUS

There are 42 active sites (most in the Big Thompson Canyon, along CR 43 on the North Fork, the Glen Haven area and along Fish Creek in Estes Park). Connell Resources and Gerrard Excavating are the contractors doing the construction. Seven sites remain to be completed. Completion of all sites is expected by the end of June, 2014.
