Persons with Disabilities

The Larimer County Elections Department strives to ensure that all citizens are afforded access to election information and education. In addition to our web site being readable to someone who uses a Braille Reader or Speech Synthesizer, we offer the following:

  • Magnifiers - Larimer County provides magnifiers at all Vote Centers on Election Day. If you have low or impaired vision or could benefit from the use of a magnifier, please ask any Election Judge for one.
  • Election Day Assistance - On Election Day, if you need assistance with voting, please inform an Election Judge. The Election Judge or any eligible voter you select may assist you by reading your ballot, completing your ballot according to your wishes, and casting your ballot.
  • Vote Centers - A new concept in voting created by Larimer County is Vote Centers. The voter is not required to attend one specific precinct polling place on Election Day, but rather choose a Vote Center that is most convenient for them. Vote Centers are also helpful to our community of persons with disabilities. Since fewer Vote Centers are needed for each election, the Elections Office can use large buildings that are ADA compliant and are easy accessible.
  • Community Involvement - The staff at Larimer County Elections is always open to new ideas and development to further their knowledge of the needs of persons with disabilities. Elections Manager, Doreen Bellfy attends community meetings and seminars, while office staff researches via the Internet and phone calls to local organizations. If you feel we can better serve you, please email or contact us at 970-498-7820.
