Larimer County Natural Resources is updating the management plan for Devil's Backbone Open Space in order to guide future management and operations at the property. The current plan was adopted in 2004. Since that time there has been a significant increase in visitation that warrants changing daily operations and management. Proposals include a new trail and expansion of the existing trailhead to help accommodate increased recreation demand while protecting natural and cultural resources.

This update aims to address:

  • Visitor capacity at the site
  • Resource management and stewardship of the site
  • Education and interpretation at the site

The draft management plan and it's associated figures are available below. Please review these documents and provide your feedback by using the feedback links on the page. The first link (green button) goes to a short survey of questions related to proposed changes in the plan. The second goes to a general feedback form where you can offer open ended comments and suggestions about the Draft Management Plan. The second link will work for people who have already given their feedback using the form already. The public comment period for the draft plan will end on December 12.
