The Larimer County Motor Vehicle Department is responsible for vehicle registration, titling and issuing license plates. The Office of the Clerk maintains records concerning the number of vehicles registered yearly in the county.

What these data tell us:
In general, Larimer County vehicle registrations increased over the last decade.The number of registered vehicles declined slightly between 2005 and 2006 in all municipalities except Wellington. Effective January 1, 2007, there was a change in emissions law which may have contributed to the decline. Owners of vehicles unable to pass emissions in 2006 may have waited until 2007 to register.
