Larimer County Offices, Courts, District Attorney, Landfill, Household Hazardous Waste, and Recycle Center are all closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2015.
County Offices are also closed on Friday, November 27 while the Courts, District Attorney, Landfill, Household Hazardous Waste, and Recycle Center are open. Critical services at Larimer County will not be disrupted by this closure.
Larimer County Cooperative Extension Advisory Meeting
September 7, 2007
The meeting was held in the Extension Office Meeting Room in Fort Collins. Those present were Trena Anistasia, Jesse Mae Hendrickson, Pam Harrold, Susanne Jarboe-Simpson, Valerie Clark, David Lee, Marsha Dooley, Sandra Larson, Ralph Bender, Alberto Squassabia, Ellen Donovan, Dixie Dick, Rob Ryan, County Commissioner Glenn Gibson, Extension Director Laurel Kubin, Extension Agent Jackie Miller, and Fred McClanahan, Jr.
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Introductions were made.

Healthy Colorado Homes Initiative
A healthy home is designed, constructed, maintained or rehabilitated in a manner that supports the health of residents. Evidence links housing conditions to health outcomes such as asthma, lead poisoning, lung cancer, and unintentional injuries. Creating healthier housing promotes growth and development of our children and can save billions of dollars in health care costs.
Formation of Larimer County Extension Family and Consumer Education Leadership Council
This council is being formed to develop and implement a program plan that will direct Extension’s Family and Consumer Education (FCE) resources toward the resolution of identified issues and concerns.
Laurel gave a report on the upcoming Rocky Mountain Conference on Aging: Aging in the Workplace to be held October 24 & 25, 2007 in the Thomas M. McKee Building at The Ranch.
Trends and Issues
The Larimer County Fair was a success. Attendance numbers are unavailable but there were decent crowds.
4-H recruitment began during County Fair and will continue for the next several months. There are many projects and activities from which to choose. Prospective families will be put in contact with clubs in their area for membership.
Showcase will be held in the restaurant at the Budweiser Events Center on December 6. Staff and advisory committee members are asked to arrive at 11:30 a.m., lunch and program start promptly at 12 Noon, with adjourment by 1:30 p.m.
It was asked that the “Save the Date” card be modified with an agenda teaser. A formal invitation will be followed with a contact from committee members.
The meeting adjourned at 9:45 a.m.
