Members present:  Suzanne Jarboe-Simpson, Ruth Wilson, Jean Bosch, Ronda Koski, LaVon Blaesi, Valerie Clark, Dixie Dick, Pam Harrold, Mel Hilgenberg, Laurel Kubin, Deni LaRue, Lew Gaiter III, and Fred McClanahan, Jr.  Excused:  Susan Bonsall, Pranaya Sathe.


Chairman Suzanne Jarboe-Simpson called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m.  Ronda Koski moved to approve the minutes of the October 31st meeting; Valerie Clark seconded. Motion carried.



Extension Showcase

Extension Showcase was on December 7, 2012 in The Ranch Grill in the Budweiser Events Center.  Many first time attendees (committee and invitees) were impressed and thought it was a valuable event with good speakers and a great way to network with decision makers.  Speaker presentations are available in the YouTube section of the county’s website at



4-H Carnival

The Larimer County 4-H Carnival will be March 23.  Committee member were asked to help sell ticket at the carnival.  Advisory committee members asked to have a 4-H member at the next advisory meeting to promote it.



Commissioner’s Report

Commissioner Lew Gaiter III reported to the committee on the Citizen’s Survey.

Directors Report


CSU Extension will be conducting an internal affirmative action review which is done every 4 years.  This is to ensure that all Extension programs are available without discrimination.


Three new nutrition educators started work on January 3.  Two will join the SNAP-Ed program and one will work in the EFNEP program.


2013 agendas may include reports from other county departments to help the committee understand what other departments do and how Extension can work with them.



The meeting was adjourned at 10:05am.  Next meeting is Wednesday, March 6, 8:00 a.m. at the Larimer County Extension Office.
