October 20, 2009

Meeting Called to Order: Chair Susanne called the meeting to order @ 7:02 PM
Agenda: Adopted as written
Meeting Minutes: Susanne amended item #4 under committee member items changing the spelling of the word “Link” to “Linc”. Motion then was made by Stoner and seconded by Resseguie to approve the minutes as amended. Motion passed.

2. County Planning items:
A. Jill Bennett reported that the County Commissioners will be having a hearing on November 2 on the potential adoption of adding water and sewer pipelines to be subject to the 1041 Powers that the County had previously adopted for dealing with overhead power lines.
B. Jill announced her retirement at the end of this year. Jill then introduced Samantha Mott who will be taking her place as the staff planner for LAPAC and Toby Stouffer, also a planner with the County who is handling the McConnell rezoning.

Agenda Action Item: McConnell rezoning – 3522 W. CR 54G
Toby Stouffer made the staff presentation about the applicant’s request to rezone his 2.15 acre property from O-Open to PD-Planned Development. Applicant, Robert McConnell was present to answer questions. After a brief discussion, Ed Ott made a motion to approve the rezoning, 2nd by Nancy. Motion Passed Unanimously.
Discussion Item: potential school closure, Members discussed the reported possible closure of CLP Middle School (CLPMS) and/or the relocation of the Lab School into the facility. According to information from community members and the school Principal, CLPMS will likely not be closing; however, relocation of the Lab School is still a possibility. LAPAC members concluded that we need additional information before we make a written statement. Susanne will research and email LAPAC members so the issue can be discussed at the next meeting, and action taken, if appropriate.
