MEETING MINUTES September 18, 2007
LAPORTE AREA PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm at the West Fort Collins Water District, LaPorte.
Members Present: Susanne Cordery-Cotter, Nancy Grice, Mandy Kotzman, Ed Ott, Paul Resseguie, Cordelia Stone, Will Wade & Ed Stoner
Staff Present: Rob - Planning Dept.

The meeting minutes from December 19, 2006 were adopted with edits.
Ed Stoner removed himself due to a conflict of interest.
Ed, Mandy and Nancy attended the “Lake at Bighorn Development Project” meeting. There were 60+ people in attendence
Mark Loader – Mark is a Holnam land owner. Mark went over the problems he is having with the development. There are 23 landowners that want out of the HOA. The HOA is being run by a developer that wants to develop the land within the HOA. These 23 land owners do not want to be part of this.
Greeley Waterline Enhansement Project and Extent.
Rob from the county went over the background of the project.
There will be a town meeting on Oct 2nd to inform residents.
Dan Moore from the Greeley water works went over the project. This water project should provide Greeley with water for the next 50 years. The primary route will go down an old abandoned Rail Road line.
Problem with weeds after a project like this was brought up.
Concerns about the river crossing by Lions Park were discussed.
Rose Brinks is a property owner that will be affected. She expressed her desire to have the water line Not go through her property.
May Humstone is a property owner that will be affected. She wanted to know id this project had anything to do with the Glade Reservoir project.
George Brunet is a property owner that will be affected. He believes that this is not necessary.
John Stegner talked about the value of the gravel around the pipe that could no longer be harvested.
Dan Moore from the Greeley water works addressed all concerns.
At 8:30 the discussion went to LAPAC.
LAPAC voted 7-1 for Mandy to draft a letter of recommendations to be sent to the County Commissioners.
LAPAC voted 7-1 to extend the meeting time to go over the Stegner Gravel Pit problems.
Rob from the county went over the background of the perceived problems.
Susanne relayed concerns about the pit. The main concerns are the removal of the berm and “Sight & Sound” management.
John Stegner stated that there is a new foreman on the project. He has high hopes that things will get better.
