PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING
PARK FEE INCREASES
A public meeting was held at 6:30 p.m. with Frank Lancaster, County Manager. Also present were: Commissioner Kathay Rennels, Chair of the Board of County Commissioners; Gary Buffington, Parks and Open Lands Department; Vic Grizzle, Bureau of Reclamation; and Kristen Romary, Deputy Clerk.
Chair Rennels opened the meeting and asked for public comment on the County Budget and the Land Use Code, no one from the audience addressed the Board. She explained that the purpose of the scheduled meeting was to hear the proposal for Larimer County park fee increases for 2008.
Mr. Buffington outlined the proposed fee structure as recommended by staff and the Parks Advisory Board. He explained that there are four areas where the park fees will increase, this includes: A $1 increase to daily permits at the four reservoirs, excluding the east side of Horsetooth Reservoir; an increase of $10 for all annual non-resident vehicle and boat permits; an increase of $3 for all camping sites; and a $5 increase for all paddling permits. Mr. Buffington said that all other passes and permits will remain the same for 2008. Chair Rennels opened the hearing for public comment and no one addressed the Board.
Mr. Lancaster explained that this meeting was originally scheduled to provide the public the opportunity to give staff and the Board input on the proposed park fee increases. Since only one Commissioner was present, a final decision will be made in Administrative Matters once Commissioner Gibson and the newly elected Commissioner review the tape of the meeting. Mr. Lancaster and Chair Rennels encouraged anyone with questions or comments to contact Larimer County.
The meeting ended at 6:40 p.m.
