The Ranch was named best campsite for 2009 Relay For Life, after a hugely successful June 2009 event, along side assistance from Ovations catering. With the slogan 'Cancer, Just Beat It,' The Ranch played host to over 90 teams from all over Northern Colorado, equaling over 3,000 event day participants.
Director of The Ranch, Bob Herrfeldt said, "Events such as Relay For Life, are a true testament of why Larimer County residents approved the construction of this facility (The Ranch). It's just another reason why The Ranch is seen as such a fantastic asset to Northern Colorado. Our onsite partnership with Ovations has significantly helped Relay For Life assemble here for the past two years."
Relay For Life is a 24 hour long relay committed to the fight against cancer. Teams competing at The Ranch masqueraded through each lap, with crimped hair, bright colors of clothing, and blue eye shadow. The Ranch, went as far as dressing like replicas of Michael Jackson, and Cindy Lauper, with full intent to celebrate the 24 hour campaign old school style. The Ranch campsite provided 80's music, karaoke, as well as sold cotton candy and popcorn to help fundraise for the event.
