Avie Strand, Community Health Services Director at the Larimer County Department of Public Health & Environment, was awarded the 2015 McKee Community Health Award on March 12.
The McKee Community Health Award recognizes one individual per year that contributes to the overall health and wellness of the Loveland community either through direct patient care, paid professional service or volunteer service in the healthcare field.
KRFC-FM's Community at Work program won a 1st place award Saturday night at the 2014 Colorado Broadcasters Awards of Excellence program in Denver. The show three hosts, Richard Cox/Health District of Northern Larimer County; Deni La Rue/Larimer County Government; and, Bob Overbeck/City of Fort Collins, won as a team for Best News/Talk Show Host or Team in a major market category. The three hosts rotate the show weekly. Community at Work highlights the services their public agencies provide in the region and the hosts interview people about these services as well as issues their agencies face. For the second year running, the 1st place went to the weekly Community at Work show which airs on Thursdays from 6-6:30p.m. at 88.9 fm.
Debbie Pierson, Larimer County Veterans Services Coordinator received an Outstanding Work for Veterans award from Jim Keeton, National President of the 101st Airborne Division Association. Larimer County Veterans Services Department Specialists Trisha Reynolds, Steve Page and Nickie Phillips also received an award from the 101st Airborne Division as did the Veterans Office for their Outstanding Work for Veterans.
Earl Fawcett, Deputy with the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, was named the recipient of the Sally Henze Memorial Award October 21 in Fort Collins. This award is given to an individual who has contributed significantly to the welfare of at-risk adults in Larimer County by the Larimer County Adult Protection Team. Deputy Fawcett is primarily assigned as a Mountain Deputy working the Red Feather, Poudre Canyon and Northern Mountains of Larimer County and received Distinguished Service Medals in 2006 and 2011 and a Meritorious Service Medal in 2012. Fawcett was nominated by Mary Lou Evans of the Department of Human Services. The award is given in honor of Sally Henze, a nurse and former director of Columbine Home Health. She was one of the founding members of the Larimer County Adult Protection Team.

The Board of Larimer County Commissioners today recognized the Natural Resources Department for several awards received for their ‘Our Lands – Our Future (OLOF) – Conservation and Recreation Choices for Northern Colorado program, a regional study of conservation and outdoor recreation preferences completed in 2013. On May 5, 2014, the 36th Annual Judge Conrad L. Ball Award honors Nancy Griffith-Conklin. Larimer County Community Corrections Business Operations Manager, as the 2014 recipient. Griffith-Conklin received the award for contributing toward improving the quality of justice in Larimer County. According to her nomination, Griffith-Conklin has developed and maintained all of the budgets for grants and contracts that fund specialized programs, including: Intensive Residential Treatment, Alternatives to Incarceration for Individuals with Mental Health Needs (AIIM), the Day Reporting Center, Juvenile Transportation Unit and the Short Term Intensive Remedial Residential Treatment. Nancy's work with the County Budget Manager and Finance Director was essential to obtaining the approval for construction of a new Community Corrections facility.

Larimer County foster parents Louise and Jim East were named outstanding foster parents of the year by the Colorado State Foster Parent Association and the Colorado Coalition of Adoptive Families. The couple was presented the award at the 2002 Annual Education Conference on October 10 in Glenwood Springs. The Easts have served as foster parents for Larimer County for the last 17 years and have cared for numerous troubled and challenging children. The couple has also adopted two children.
The Children, Youth and Family Services Division of Larimer County's Department of Human Services has won the statewide John Inmann Program Award from the Colorado Forum on Community and Restorative Justice. The Children, Youth and Family Services Division was nominated for this award due to their efforts in integrating restorative and community justice in child welfare cases.
The National Association of County Information Officers, NACIO, has awarded their second highest acknowledgment the , "2002 Excellent Award" for the Larimer County Budget Office video, "In Working Order".
