Park Situation

 

2012 Annual Permits are available.  Annual Permits may be purchased from the Bison Visitor Center and from Rangers in the field.

Drinking water at Pinewood Reservoir has been shut OFF for the season. Potable water may be accessed at Flatiron Campground, Upper Eagle campground and Big Thompson Campground. 

 SELF-SERVE PERMIT STATIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS RESERVOIR. PERMITS MUST BE PURCHASED AT THE NORTH ENTRANCE OF CARTER LAKE.

 

 

 

FIRE RESTRICTIONS are in place effective April 12th.

  • Campfires are allowed in metal grates only
  • No fires allowed at boat-in campsites
  • Fuel stoves and grills okay (no charcoal)
  • No open flames outside of metal grates (no tiki torches)
  • No smoking outside unless on established roads or parking areas or within a vehicle

Fishing Conditions

Fishing has been active with rising water temps.

Water Level

Water level fluctuates weekly. 


Camping

Camping reservations may now be made 180 days in advance.

Wildlife

Mule Deer and Elk are plentiful this time of year. Please drive carefully as wildlife often gathers near the roads.
