Mule deer, white-tailed deer, fox, and coyotes can all be seen wandering through this area.  There is a prairie dog colony on the east side of the open space.  The prairie dogs are a consistent food source for the raptors including the local bald eagles.

 Bird Sightings

Great horned owls, red-tailed hawks, and bald eagles are residents of River Bluffs Open Space.  Various waterfowl enjoy the habitat of the Poudre River including wood ducks, teal, shovelers, mallards and mergansers.
