Rimrock Open Space
Rimrock Open Space is 472 acres of unmarred views, dramatic red rock cliffs, and hogback valleys - a striking western landscape rapidly disappearing as residential development creeps into the Larimer County foothills. Here, hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians can traverse a seven-mile round-trip trail, or connect to the Blue Sky Trail.
This open space is an important component of Larimer County's Front Range Mountain Backdrop and continues the protection of significant aesthetic and ecological values.
Rimrock Open Space has no entrance fee and is open year-round, dawn to dusk. It is located southwest of Fort Collins and accessed via the Blue Sky Trail or from Coyote Ridge Natural Area off County Road 19/Taft Hill Rd. (see map link below).
General Regulations
For specifics, ask a ranger for a copy of the Regulations Brochure.- Day use only. Access is not permitted 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
- No pets are allowed.
- Stay on the trail to avoid and not disturb wildlife, including rattlesnakes.
- Firearms, fires, fireworks, hunting and trapping are prohibited.
