Estes Park Campground at Mary's Lake
Nestled in a beautiful valley surrounded by the gorgeous Rocky Mountains, this campground is a stone’s throw away from Mary’s Lake. All types of campers, from the touring-abode community to the adventurous tent-dwellers, escape from the city life here. Whether you prefer the relaxation of a fishing pole and a chair, the energy-depleting magic of the small but delightfully heated pool, the close proximity to the town of Estes Park for shopping or dining, or the rare but necessary opportunities for bonding with your family and friends around the campfire, it’s easy to pass the time.
This campground requires camping permits, and is open May 15 to October 15. At 8,000 feet in elevation, it is located south of Estes Park, Colorado.
General Regulations

- Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Collection of firewood, including cutting of trees and branches is not allowed.
- Firearms or fireworks are prohibited.
- Glass containers are not allowed.
- Public consumption of alcohol above 3.2% is prohibited (no kegs allowed).
- Dogs must be on leashes not longer than 10 feet and must not be left unattended at any time.
- Max of 8 people per campsite.
- Bears in the area! Proper food storage required.
From downtown Estes Park take U.S. Highway 36 west approximate 1.5 miles to Mary's Lake Road. Turn left on Mary's Lake Road (Cty. Rd. 66). Travel approximately 1.5 miles to the campground.
- Full hook up, Electric & water, electrical and tent.
- Must stop and check in at the entrance.
- Campground hosts on duty during the summer.
- Mid May- Mid October, you can reserve sites at www.larimercamping.com or 800-397-7795. Campground is closed Mid October- Mid May.
- A camping permit is required for each campsite for each night (in addition to entrance permits).
- Maximum of 14 nights in any 30-day period anywhere in the Larimer County Natural Resources system.
- This is a very popular camping area; even on weekdays during the summer, reservations are recommended. It's a good idea to call ahead for availability if you don't have reservations.
- Weekends during the summer - capacity is usually reached.
- Playground on site.
- Two shower houses available in the campground.
- Small swimming pool on site.
- Convenience store, laundry and arcade on site.
- No ice fishing - ice is UNSAFE due to water fluctuations.
- Stocked with rainbow trout several times during the spring and fall months.
- Rainbow, brown and lake trout, Kokanee salmon.
- No boating allowed.
- Swimming is prohibited.
